I honestly don't know why Bare Minerals doesn't get more hype. I personally believe it's because people would rather have liquids and creams vs. using minerals/powders. I can understand that but EVERY TIME I've used Bare Minerals....I've fallen in love! I think every one should give them a good try.

The colors in this little duo are a pretty apricot nectar color called SHHH. It's a highly pigmented and matte which I love. Also a cinnamon brown shimmer that looks so beautiful with golden glitter specks! bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow provides vivid, pigment-packed color with seamless blendability that lasts up to 12 hours. Powered by our proprietary SeaNutritive Mineral Complex, it delivers skin-nourishing benefits including reduced appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and puffiness plus boosted moisture levels.

Some of the qualities I love about these eyeshadows are:

  • Exceptionally vivid, pure, provocative color
  • Long-wearing for up to 12 hours
  • Resists creasing, fading and smudging
  • Reduces the look of fine lines, wrinkles and puffiness
  • Helps to boost moisture levels to smooth and revitalize delicate eye area
  • Looks like a powder, feels like a cream and delivers skin-nourishing benefits.
  • Formulated without parabens, binders, fillers or harsh chemicals.

  • I purchased mine from my bareMinerals boutique for $20.00. It's 3 grams/.1 ounce. Because it's so pigmented you really don't use a lot each time. The blending capabilities are great, which is something I seriously consider with eyeshadows, because my skin is on the more mature side. You can order online on bareMinerals website as well.

I blew up the picture above so you could see the gorgeous golden colored shimmer! I am not one to put too much glitter on my eyes because of my age, but this is truly lovely!! It plays with the golden colors in my eyes as well. As far as my lasting power, I always use Tarte's clean slate creaseless eye primer with any eyeshadow I use. These shadows stayed on WELL over 12 hours! Very, very happy with my little duo.

Here are some pictures of me with these colors. I recommend bareMinerals eyeshadows to everyone!

Happy Memorial Day! I've been MIA from posting for a good reason. I've been on a mini vacation. :-D Unfortunately, I didn't have appropriate time for creating posts. I did however, take some pictures to share with you just a few highlights  of my vacation.

This vacation was all about relaxation. We didn't go away, but instead, took advantage of local trips.

My husband and I had both been wanting to go fishing because it had been a few weeks. The last few times we had gone, weren't too relaxing as well. Too many people. Thankfully this time....it was just us!

We went for a nice bike ride and had a picnic. Sitting in the shade with a nice breeze was so peaceful. We also sat on our porch, had a few cigars and a few cold ones.

Of course we had a BBQ. Steak was the main course. So lovely!!! We love hunting with bow and arrows so we sighted in our bows and did a bit of target practice.

One of my favorite parts of our vacation was the drinks we had and foods we ate. We hardly cooked! We had hoagies from our local Wawa, Mexican from our favorite resturants and fresh fruits! We drank our favorite drinks knowing we could enjoy knowing we didn't have to go to work.

But my favorite was waking up and going to bed whenever we wanted. I'm an early riser, so my husband would get up with me. My husband likes to stay up a little bit later so I'd (try) to stay up with him. We caught up on shows....my favorite right now, The Following. Anxious for Pretty Little Liars to come on. :-D

So, I have to say I missed blogging. I'm glad I'm back. Hope your weekend was great! Thanks for stopping by. Talk with you soon! Xo!

Brow Zings! Today I looked around my makeup room, trying to find that special thing to talk to you about. Even though I have too many things to choose from, I still had a hard time. Then underneath a few small palettes, I found my pretty Brow Zings! How I loved this when I used it. Yes, I've taken a small break from using it, but that is only because I have so many different products I try and then share my thoughts on each product with my friends and family. So, I am just happy to see this again and of course I have started using it again!

    Kit contains:
pigmented wax for shaping 1.7g Net wt. 0.06 oz
natural-shaded powder for setting 2.65g Net wt. 0.09 oz.
    discreet tweezers
    hard angle brush
    blending brush
    mirror
    complete lesson

This little kit is so easy to use. That is first thing that is amazing about it. Also, it looks so natural. I've tried different brands of eyebrow powders/wax and it gets a bit to harsh. I did not find that problem with this. This is also long lasting. I don't have a problem with it smearing off or slowly just leaving my face. It is very pigmented though so you don't need to put a lot of product on those little brushes...and let's talk about those little brushes. They are pretty good. I use them every single time. I have no complaints about them The little tweezer, honestly, I haven't even used because it's just so small I feel like my hand may get arthritis in it from holding it. LOL

I purchased this at Ulta but I have to tell you that this is a bit pricey. It is $32.00 for the pigmented wax which is: 1.7g Net wt. 0.06 oz. and the natural-shaded powder is: 2.65g Net wt. 0.09 oz. This may not look like a lot of product however, they are so pigmented and they work so well together that you hardly use anything each time. So I've heard people having this for over a year! So, to me it definitely is an investment but it's so easy and beautiful.

Above is just the powder. That is just one stroke.  The picture below is the wax over top of the powder. I made small strokes as if I were doing my eyebrows. So together, they work beautifully.

The picture below is me with the Brow Zings! My brows aren't the best but I think they look pretty good and when using Brow Zings, it's done in no time and they look natural.

I believe they have three shades. Light, medium and dark. I'd suggest going in and trying which one would work well for your brows. Mine is no doubt...dark. Matches perfectly. If you are in the market for a brow kit that is easy and long lasting, this is your kit.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are all having a great day. Talk to you soon! Xo

What if you were to die tomorrow? What would you wish you could do before you die? I have been thinking a lot about this. Have you? No matter what age you are, at some point (I advise you start when you are a young adult) you should think about making a bucket list. It's a great feeling to make a list of any kind and be able to cross things off and say "Did it!" What a feeling it is to do things that you've wanted to do all your life or that make you extremely fulfilled! I like that feeling and I want more, so I thought I'd start my bucket list.

So, I put together the start of my bucket list. I have ten that were no-brainers for me. I'm not going to put them in any order....let's just say if I can do any of these at anytime...I'll be ecstatic!!

    1.  Achieve MY ideal weight...and I DON'T mean my BMI weight. I think it was made back in the 1830's and they have changed it over time. I just want to be the weight size that I personally want to be.

    2.  I want to camp on the beach. I want to pitch our tent in the sand to hear the waves crashing all night. Watch the sun rise and the sun set. Breathing in that salt water ocean. Oh man. This just sounds like heaven!!

    3.  See the pyramids in Egypt. Actually not just see them, but tour them. Walk around them...feel them...stand next to them. To even just imagine, so long ago these men built these amazing pyramids...without any of the tools we have today. HOLY COW. I get goosebumps just thinking about it! Gotta see them!!

    4. See Prince in concert. Yes, I'll take a heapful of Prince...ANYDAY! I love me some Prince. Always have and always will. From the 70's even now...mm mmm mmmm. I don't care if I am in the nose bleed section or standing room only. I just want to hear him play and feel his awesome vibes! This to me is the same as if I could have seen Michael Jackson before he passed. Prince is god.

    5.  To see the two bands that gave me interest in music. Duran Duran and Def Leppard. Duran Duran was the very first band I EVER loved! When I listen to their music today, there is no other genre or band that I have listened to, that gives me the content feeling that I get when listening to Duran Duran.

Def Leppard was the band that changed my taste in music from pop/punk to Rock. Back then, they weren't even considered Rock it was HEAVY METAL!!!   \m/     <-- lol. To see them in concert would just be a dream of mine from when I was a young teenager. Such wonderful memories these bands gave me.

    6.  To eat pasta IN Italy! Which would mean...I'M IN ITALY! lol. I would just love to experience tasting pasta that was made from the country that made pasta taste as good as an orgasm. To hear Italian spoken, to be drinking Italian wine with my meal. This for me would be.... molto bene!

    7.  To see the Hobbit huts in New Zealand. I love Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. These little huts are so enchanting that it would be pure nostalgic for me! I love the country side, especially in countries such as England and Ireland. I must see New Zealand! So many films were filmed there. I want to see with my own eyes....why they chose New Zeland. :-D

    8.  To chase a tornado. Yep, you read that right. I have always wanted to chase a tornado ever since I was little watching Wizard of Oz. In the 90's I would purchase documentaries on tornados. I'd actually PURCHASE them. lol. I'm always looking at the sky and the clouds formation. I hope to do this soon.

    9.  Road trip across America in a mobile home. I think this is my #1 on my bucket list. I want to see every  'safe' area of the USA. See all the amazing historical features that are still here and 'living' for us to witness today! Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, Smoky Mountains, Niagara Falls and Kennedy Space Center....just to name VERY few.

    10.  Float in the Dead Sea. I've seen pictures and heard people talk about it that have gone and I just think that is so neat! Also, if I'm going to be able to get into the Dead Sea, I'd also like to visit Israel. Walk around where Jesus walked. See things that Jesus saw. This would be THE ultimate trip for me.

This was fun for me. Hope it was fun to read. Why don't you make one up for yourself. Keep it and I hope one day all your things are crossed off! Good luck and have a great rest of the day! Xo

Well, hello there my pretty. I have been waiting a long time to play with this highlight/contour palette. Now, none of these pictures have any filters at all. I really wanted to because my skin is being crazy right now, but I wanted the pictures to be true so you can see. Above is what the packaging looks like. I love the packaging. It just looks bad-ass just like all her makeup. It opens and closes very easily and is thin enough to bring with you when traveling. It comes with a card of three techniques on how to apply the highlight and contour. I did all three of them in one.

I purchased this palette at Sephora and it is priced at $46.00. Sephora's write up says:
What it is:An exclusive contour palette featuring three shades for contouring and three shades for highlighting, designed to shape and define facial features to create a look of authentic dimensionality.

    What it does:
An expert sketch artist, Kat Von D uses shadow and light to create depth and dimension in her captivating portraits, infusing them with lifelike authenticity. Take artistry shading into your own hands with this Shade + Light Contour Palette. Effortlessly sculpt, chisel, shape, and slenderize your features for enhanced definition. Unlike traditional bronzing powders, the Shade + Light Contour Palette is loaded with a unique selection of matte shades that capture the true hues of shadow and light. The three contour shades create realistic shadows to recede facial features, while the three highlight shades impart a soft luminosity to amplify dimension. A true artist's palette specially designed to be used with the Shade + Light Contour Brush, these silky, buildable powders blend effortlessly into the skin for a flawless, fade-proof finish that flatters every skin tone or face shape. This set is exclusively available at Sephora.

    This set contains:
    - 3 x 0.16 oz Shade powder in Sombre (true taupe), Shadowplay (soft brown), Subconscious (deep brown)
    - 3 x 0.08 oz Light powder in Lucid (pinkish nude), Lyric (yellow beige), Levitation (soft peach)
    -Step-by step guide

    What it is formulated WITHOUT:
    - Parabens
    - Sulfates
    - Phthalates

What else you need to know:The palette includes an illustrated step-by step tutorial featuring three easy, artistic ways to define your cheekbones, slim your face, and shape your nose. The Shade + Light Contour Brush is sold separately.

Follow the included insert—illustrated by Kat herself—and master the art of contouring in three simple ways: Define cheekbones: sculpt and chisel your appearance. Slim your face: slenderize features and define the jawline. Shape your nose: taper your silhouette.

There is a Shade & Light Contour brush that costs $36.00. I did not purchase it because I have so many brushes that I love and I felt I just didn't need it.

This is me with my foundation on. No contour or highlight done in the picture above and two below. I do have eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara on as well.

I used my Sephora Pro Angled Contour Brush #75 for the contouring. I used Shadowplay  for my contouring and I used Lyric for my highlighting. I also used my Japonesque #140 brush to contour down the sides of my nose and highlight down the bridge. I also applied some blush which I used #3 Milani's Illuminating face powder. I applied my blush with Mac's #130 brush. Lastly, I did apply some lipstick to finish my look. I used Nars Never Say Never Velvet Matte Lip Pencil.

Suggested Usage:-For the perfect sculpted cheeks, apply a shade powder along the entire length of the cheekbone and blend any visible lines.
-Apply a light powder at the high point of your cheeks and blend toward the hairline.
-Tip: Use shade powders to create shadow and recede facial features; use light powders to highlight and enhance.
-To discover more ways to contour, see Kat Von D's illustrated, step-by-step guide featured in the Shade + Light Contour Palette insert.

These are the final look. Again, no filters. I do love how they blend easily. This palette is definitely user friendly.  The powders are very pigmented so you don't need to put too much on your brush. I would start light and work up to what you want. I love that the powders are matte and don't leave skin sparkly. This palette doesn't give you an orange look like some contour palettes do. Is this palette life changing? No, but it is very nice. Some palettes don't give as much product so, for the product, the price is okay. However, will I use all colors? Are they all useable with my skin tone? That is where I don't think you're getting your moneys worth. Just keep that in mind if you're thinking of purchasing.

Thanks for stopping by my friends. Hope you are having a great day. Talk with you soon! Xo

You have no idea, how badly I wanted to do a small review on this baby. I would take it out of its box and just...admire it. Never once swatching it...or violating it in any way. Not until, I captured it on camera and shared my first impressions of it.

Look at these gorgeous colors! I tried to take pictures of the names with the colors but I'm not sure if you can see them. First, lets see what Tarte has to say about this pretty little palette...f

A matte eye & cheek palette infused with Amazonian clay that celebrates the fun florals of summer.

Product Performance: Do the bright thing this summer with this next-generation collector’s eye & cheek palette, starring tarte’s fan favorite Amazonian clay-infused glisten blush, a golden peachy pink shade for the perfect, everyday glow. With a chic and portable, colorful poppy design, you can also discover an array of all-new, matte eyeshadows in liner, lid, crease and highlight shades, each giving you a reason to fall in love with the festivities of the season all over again. Now you can create custom, blended warm looks as exquisite as the summer sunset, while Amazonian clay works overtime to balance and nourish skin on the lids and cheeks, for a fresh and glowing appearance, from dewy summer mornings to evenings under the stars.

    Limited-edition shades include:
    • summer breeze (cream shadow)
    • sweet tea (tan shadow)
    • ice cream cone (chocolate shadow)
    • barefoot in the grass (nude shadow)
    • peach poppy (peach shadow)
    • picnic basket (brown

    Powered By:

    • Amazonian clay: nature’s most perfect ingredient for better, longer, truer wear
    • vitamin E: natural preservative that also acts as an emollient and antioxidant
    • mineral pigments: soothe and soften skin

Above is what you get inside the packaging. I love the card of looks that you can create. I did a lighter version of the upper left look. Results are below. I like that the shadows are matte. They aren't chalky, they are very pigmented. I didn't get any fall out. The shadows went on smoothly. No sticking in my creases of my eyelids.

The packaging is adorable. That definitely is a selling tool for sure. This palette is a limited edition so you had better hurry and get your hands on this one. I promise you will want this one!

Here I am before applying this palette. First let me say that, the foundation I have on, has been on ALL DAY. I did not apply any lipstick because I wanted you to see color on my face from the product and not my lips.

This palette Includes a mix of liner, lid, crease and highlight shadows in wearable, all-matte shades that you can play up from day time to play time. Finish your look with pop of golden peachy pink, fanning glisten over the apples of your cheeks for the perfect everyday glow.

I used peach poppy on my lid with sweet tea in the crease. For the liner part I used ice cream cone and applied it thinly above my eyelashes. Went on SO easy. Effortless. I am in LOVE WITH THIS PALETTE!

I purchased this palette on Sephora.com for 38.00 with the 20% discount they just had. Great deal. Check out Tarte's website for more information or to order!

Hope this short first impressions was helpful to you. Hope you are having a fabulous day. Take care and I will talk with you soon.

Are you like me, and when you see words like "Age Defying"....do you just buy it, hoping that it is THE product that's going to Rock Your World? Well...I will admit, I am like definitely like that. This is one of those products.

First, I am in LOVE with the packaging. I love how it looks like a soft ice cream when it swirls into an ice cream cone! The container is plastic but it looks so thick that it could pass for glass. The red top is easy to pop off and put back on. Simple...and I love simple.

The number one feature that I do like about the packaging, is the pump top. Any packaging that helps keep bacteria out of my foundation is a definite +!

The consistency is creamy. It is a little bit oily in my opinion. I shake it as well as I can each time and yet, I still get an oily substance with it. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but I haven't had that with any other foundations. Is it a problem for my DRY skin? Not really.

This foundation, you do NOT need a lot. I usually just apply to the center of my face and buff it out to the outer ends of my entire face. You can see above how thick and creamy it looks. That isn't even one full pump. So, I would assume that this foundation will go a long way.

Now, here is when things get a little different. When I first apply it to my face it almost looks like it's going to accentuate my wrinkles and pores. As I use a buffing brush....that starts to go away and it starts to cover them. So, the bottle states that it is Age Defying with DNA Advantage. Which in layman's terms, covers fine lines and will smooth the appearance of pores. I will have to say it does it better than some but not all foundations....high end AND other drug store brands that may even be cheaper.

Here is what it looks like completely blended in. I would say that this foundation is medium to full coverage. It kind of calms all the lines in my hand. It didn't completely hide them, but it made it less noticeable. So I like that. What this cream foundation does the most is make my face look very hydrated. It gave it some life. If you are on a hunt to revitalize your skin, maybe this may be a choice for you to try.

The color I use is 15 which is Tender Beige. Revlon has this foundation in only 8 shades, so there may be a little difficulty for some people to find that perfect shade. Mine is pretty perfect. Revlon, on their site, states "Award-winning Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage™ Cream Makeup combines makeup and powerful anti-aging skincare to help protect skin's DNA and fight the visible signs of aging. Lines and wrinkles are visibly diminished while skin is hydrated and revitalized. It has SPF 20. 96% of women saw flawless, younger-looking skin in 2 weeks." I haven't used it on a consistent basis and in a little bit I'll tell you why.

Let's talk about the ingredients for a moment. I'm just going to list the active ingredients and not even talk about the other ingredients. So, if you want to know them all. CVS' website is really great for that. I couldn't find it on Revlon's website. Here they are: Active Ingredients: Octinoxate (Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate) (3.5%), Titanium Dioxide (9.5%). Non Medicinal. Now, I know NOTHING about these ingredients but what I want to talk about is the smell. OMG....it is HORRIBLE! The reason why I can't use it all the time, is because it smells so bad. I applied it and could smell it all morning. Eventually it starts to go away, thankfully. But I even asked my husband to smell it and he nailed what the scent is. It smells like....CLAY...and maybe mixed with something else but I just can't get past the scent.

So I only use it when it's that time of the month or I ate bad that month and I get a blemish or two or three....because it's great at covering.

Here I am wearing it all day. I put it on this morning at 8:15am and this picture was taken at 5:00pm. I have two yucky blemishes on this cheek and you can't really see them. If you look around my nose, it's not oily....it's more of what my skin looks like with a bit of glow. I do NOT have any oil on my face ever. Even if I coat my face with oil....my face sucks every ounce. I am bone dry. So I like that feature of this foundation.

Now I purchased this at CVS. It goes for around $15.29 for 1 fl. oz. It's kind of expensive in my opinion. If it didn't have the smell, I'd keep purchasing it though. Thankfully, I use coupons and rewards and got this foundation for free. Walmart may have this foundation a little cheaper, if you want to give it a try. Just watch out for the smell. :-)

Thank you for stopping by today. Hope this review is helpful. Wishing you a great day! Talk with you soon. Xo!
